WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC RECREATION?
PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, COGNITIVE, SPIRITUAL & SOCIAL
Therapeutic Recreation recognizes that everyone has a goal they wish to accomplish. Whether your goal is physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, or social, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) focuses on how to use your leisure/recreation interests to achieve that goal. CTRS’s tailor your therapy to match your goal, by doing the things that you love.
WHAT THIS MEANS IN A SENIOR CARE COMMUNITY?
We’re going to focus on those five aspects of total wellness (Physical, Emotional, Cognitive, Spiritual, and Social) to create group and individual programming that not only meets your interests but helps your overall health goal and improves your golden years quality of life.
These programs are specifically met to enhance your health and experience. They do more than keep you busy, they keep you active and engaged in your community. We connect you not only with your family here at Stirlingshire of Coralville, but the larger Iowa City and Coralville community. Retirement is a very active time; it is our goal to help you continue to do all the things you love.
